Motorcycle Intercoms in 2026: Mesh, Displays, and Simpler Controls

Recent announcements show different design priorities; the right feature set depends on how you actually ride.

Several approaches are appearing

At CIMAMotor 2026, ASMAX announced RoamX as a technology preview with a display and mesh communication. Sena’s August 2026 APEX announcement highlighted a glove-friendly thumbwheel and replaceable battery. These are distinct announcements, not proof that one design suits every rider.

Availability, features, and compatibility can vary by market and version. Read the exact product documentation rather than assuming a launch announcement describes the unit sold locally.

Choose by riding routine

For solo commuting, simple pairing and easy controls may matter most. Group riders may compare the intercom network, number of compatible riders, and how easily a group can reconnect. A display can add information, but it also deserves careful thought about where and when it is safe to look at it.

Try buttons with your actual gloves and confirm speaker placement does not make the helmet uncomfortable. Practice setup and audio levels while parked, then keep attention on the road while moving.

Compare before buying

  • Check whether the feature is available in the product version sold locally.
  • Confirm helmet compatibility and speaker fit.
  • Compare pairing needs for your usual group.
  • Learn controls and settings before the ride.
